Swaying in the wind
Back and forth
The branches of a weeping willow
A gust of wind made them move ever so slightly
Leaves rustled
As the branches swayed
It seemed as if it was dancing
Dancing with the wind
To a secret dance only the willow tree knows
Everything at once
Made the world ever so lively
In a meadow of luscious green grass
Was me
A 15 year old child
With a book in my hand
Reading under the willow
Enjoying the shade it gave
Now sixty years later
I am standing in that exact same spot
Except on a sidewalk made of concrete
With buildings and houses
All around me
People in the busy streets walk past me
No one sparing a glance
At the stump in front of me
